                                                 Introduction.

The purpose of this website is to provide students and faculty with a portal into the fertile study of Literature and Science. The resources gathered here are arranged by five historical periods. The resources begin with the Renaissance, then open up into the Enlightenment, followed by Romanticism, then the Victorians and finally, Modernism.

Each of the five sections are arranged and divided in the same way:

a) Major Authors and Thinkers of the Period.

b) Major Historical and Scientific Background of the Period

c) Articles and relevant research available.

d) Links to Original Manuscripts in Archives

e) Ideas for Further Study/Potential Science and Literature 'Experiments'

Each period can be read independently. Depending on how much time you have, or the scope of your reading, one period leaves you with plenty to read. To this end I have included several select authors and articles so that a period is accessible, rather than including every single book, article and manuscript which would leave you feeling overwhelmed. I hope you enjoy researching a vital and fascinating interdisciplinary area of study.
